Senior Analyst, Home Buying Finance

About the role

The Home Buying Finance team within RBS Product Finance provides financial management reporting, analysis and advice on the Home Lending product portfolio to support operational and strategic decisions for the Home Buying business, its leadership and senior Finance stakeholders. This Senior Analyst role reports to the Home Buying Finance Manager and sits in a team of 9 FTE within an RBS Product Finance team of about 20 FTE.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and contribute to monthly performance reporting for designated product portfolios, including financial control deliverables and continual improvement of reports.
• Support ongoing forecast and budget preparation for the Home Loans portfolio and others when required, including driver-based and variance analysis.
• Prepare ad hoc analysis for key stakeholders such as the CFO, GM Finance, EGM Product and GM Product, and information for profit announcements and analyst briefings.
• Assist with regular financial and business analysis of the product portfolio, covering business drivers, market dynamics and the competitive landscape.
• Provide financial input on business assumptions for investment initiatives, product launches and major decisions.
• Contribute to process improvement, simplification and cross-skilling across the RBS Retail Product team, including knowledge transfer on the quantitative and qualitative drivers of the portfolio.
• Undertake other tasks assigned by the manager that can be performed competently and safely.

Required profile

• Graduate qualifications in Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline, with CA/CPA qualification or active progression towards completion.
• Strong experience in financial performance management, including monthly management reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
• Proven ability to build relationships and partner with Finance and business stakeholders.
• Experience preparing executive reporting, leadership packs and financial insights.

Required skills

• High-level proficiency in financial modelling and trend analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong critical thinking and the ability to manage multiple deliverables.
