Senior Adviser – Business & Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Adviser to join its Business & Tax Advisory team in Australia. You will work with a diverse portfolio of private businesses, start‑ups, family groups and listed companies, providing end‑to‑end payroll, bookkeeping and tax compliance services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process payroll for multiple clients, including STP reporting, superannuation, payroll tax lodgements and Work Cover compliance.
• Conduct annual payroll reconciliations, PAYG payment summary preparation and payroll tax/Work Cover annual declarations.
• Manage full‑cycle bookkeeping – monthly transaction processing, accounts payable and receivable.
• Produce monthly management reports and prepare instalment and Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Deliver ad‑hoc back‑office support as requested by clients.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or taxation.
• Demonstrated experience in payroll, bookkeeping and tax compliance within a professional services environment.
• Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain productive relationships.
• Willingness to work across a range of industries and adapt to varied client needs.
