Senior Accountant - Tax & Accounting Practice

About the role

A Canberra accounting and advisory firm, part of a wider group advising business owners, high net worth individuals, families and private companies, is hiring a Senior Accountant. The role manages a substantial portfolio of business clients and high net worth individuals, owning each client relationship and leading every assignment from the first request for information through to completion and follow-up.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on tax law changes arising from the Budget
• Manage workflow, client deadlines and quarterly compliance
• Lead tax and accounting assignments in Xero from start to finish
• Support directors on structures, asset protection and estate planning
• Assist with management reporting, business decisions and annual valuations

Required profile

• Solid Australian public practice experience across tax and accounting
• Mature, client-focused approach with strong integrity
• Curiosity to look beyond the task and understand what the numbers mean

Required skills

• Strong Xero skills
• Clear client communication
