Banking Consultant – Retail Banking, Canberra

About the role

ANZ is recruiting Banking Consultants for its Retail Banking division in Canberra (ACT). The role is mainly branch-based and focuses on helping customers meet their end-to-end financial needs and goals through transaction activities, needs-based conversations and education on available financial solutions, including digital ones. It is part of a collaborative team that acts as a role model and peer coach, and the role may involve rostered Saturday shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Complete customer transactions and hold in-depth needs-based conversations within the scope of your accreditation level
• Contribute to higher customer engagement and advocacy, creating real customer value
• Support bank programs and initiatives
• Know your customer from a risk perspective
• Ensure compliance with ANZ and branch policies and procedures

Required profile

• Ideally retail experience; customer focus is essential
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to change and ambiguity
• Willingness to work in a collaborative team
• Sound understanding of compliance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• No need to have all listed attributes; a growth mindset is valued

Required skills

• Experience as a user and promoter of technology; working knowledge of digital channels is an advantage
• Retail experience is an advantage
