Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting & Compliance

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support statutory reporting, risk & compliance and audit coordination for Mastercard’s Australia‑New Zealand Controllership Group. You will work closely with finance, tax and audit teams across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, statutory adjustments and balance‑sheet reconciliations in accordance with IFRS, US GAAP, AASB and local regulations.
• Coordinate interim and year‑end statutory audits, manage auditor requests and resolve audit queries.
• Support corporate income‑tax compliance, including trial balances, tax adjustments and coordination with external tax advisers.
• Assist in the preparation of indirect‑tax filings such as GST and FBT for Australia and New Zealand.
• Interpret accounting standards, monitor regulatory changes and provide technical guidance to business stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement and automation initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; CPA, CA or equivalent qualification.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience applying IFRS, US GAAP and local statutory reporting in a multinational environment.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and written/oral communication skills in English.
• Experience leveraging AI and digital tools to automate routine finance tasks.
