Senior Accountant – Business Services & Advisory

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to join our Business Services & Advisory team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of SME, trust, partnership and high‑net‑worth clients, delivering high‑quality accounting, taxation and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business and individual clients across various industries.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations.
• Assist clients with tax planning, cash‑flow management, budgeting and business performance insights.
• Support advisory projects including business structuring, forecasting and growth strategies.
• Review work completed by junior accountants, providing mentoring and technical guidance.
• Work with cloud‑based accounting systems such as Xero and MYOB.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows and client outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualified (or close to completion).
• 2‑3 years’ experience in public practice accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and accounting standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero (including Xero Practice Manager).
• Proficiency with MYOB (including MYOB AE).
