Senior Account Executive II

About the role

The Commercial Director leads Nielsen’s commercial partnership and operational oversight for the New Zealand TV Audience Measurement contract, acting as the primary commercial lead for the Television Broadcasters Group (TVNZ & Sky NZ). This senior role is responsible for contract governance, multi‑million‑dollar revenue renewals, tender submissions and ensuring total customer satisfaction across linear and digital measurement offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Nielsen’s executive commercial lead for the NZ Television Broadcasters Group, maintaining high‑level relationships with executive and insights leadership across major broadcasters and independent auditors.
• Own revenue targets, fee structures, rate‑card management and long‑term contract service delivery, including non‑TAM software and data subscriber agreements.
• Collaborate with Operations, Data Science and Product teams to ensure high‑quality delivery of linear ratings, streaming meters, eTAM and fusion models, and communicate methodology enhancements.
• Direct and mentor the local commercial client service team, manage account allocations, workload prioritisation and succession planning within the Pacific client service structure.

Required profile

• 10‑15+ years of senior commercial experience in media research, audience measurement or broadcast account management.
• Proven track record managing complex Joint Industry Committee relationships or multi‑client industry bodies.
• Demonstrated success in high‑value contract negotiations, tender responses and revenue retention.
• Strong executive presence, negotiation and high‑stakes presentation capabilities.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Television Audience Measurement (TAM) methodologies, panel sampling and Establishment Surveys.
• Experience with audience software suites and data licensing agreements.
