Security Engineer – Contract – Sydney

About the role

We are seeking a Security Engineer on a 6‑month contract to strengthen our cyber defence posture in Sydney. The role focuses on implementing and operating security controls across both cloud and on‑premise environments, ensuring rapid detection and response to threats.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and support endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Manage vulnerability scanning, remediation, and reporting.
• Configure and maintain email, internet, and cryptographic security controls.
• Design, deploy, and support security capabilities in Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
• Operationalise security platforms such as CrowdStrike, SIEM, Proofpoint, AlgoSec, and API security controls.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline security tasks and processes.

Required profile

• Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a fast‑paced team.
• Willingness to commit to a 6‑month contract with possible extension.
