About the role

Western Cape College in Weipa, Far North Queensland, is recruiting a full-time secondary teacher. The college offers several permanent positions covering Years 7-12, with current openings in Technologies and upcoming openings in Food and Nutrition, Fashion, Hospitality Practices and Industrial Technology Skills/Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Current Technologies teacher: teach Building and Construction, Engineering, Furnishing Skills, Industrial Graphics (Years 11-12) and Design and Technologies (Years 7-10).
• 2027 opportunities: teach Food and Nutrition, Fashion and Hospitality Practices; or deliver practical, industry-focused Industrial Technology Skills and Engineering.
• Engage students in hands-on learning and prepare them for future pathways.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification.
• Full or provisional QCT registration.
• Australian working rights or a valid visa.
• Pre-service and graduate teachers are encouraged to apply, including practicum reports, mentor statements and an unofficial transcript.
