Secondary English Teacher (ATAR/General)

About the role

The King's College is seeking a qualified, engaging and enthusiastic English Teacher (ATAR / General) to join its Secondary English department, which runs a dynamic curriculum for Years 7 to 12 covering Foundation English, General English and ATAR English. The position is full-time (FTE 1.0) and commences in Term 1, 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and purposeful English learning experiences for secondary students
• Plan and implement differentiated teaching and learning programs that support a range of student needs
• Create a classroom environment where students feel safe, known, valued and challenged
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, Heads of Learning Areas, Deans, pastoral staff and College leaders
• Communicate professionally with students, families and staff, and support student wellbeing, behaviour, engagement and academic growth
• Contribute to the Christian culture, community life and reputation of the College, and uphold its values, policies and child-safe practices

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Education
• Current Teacher Registration in Western Australia
• Demonstrated experience teaching in a secondary school setting
• Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
• Strong classroom management skills and commitment to student wellbeing
• Experience in Christian education is highly regarded
