About the role
Scone Equine Hospital, the largest equine veterinary practice in Australia, is offering a seasonal position for an equine medicine specialist (DipECEIM, DipACVIM or Australian Fellow) in its ICU, starting August 2027. The role is primarily hospital-based, with occasional visits to local stud farms for second-opinion consultations.
The ICU admits about 1,000 cases per year, including 150-200 critically ill neonatal foals. The specialist works alongside three other equine medicine specialists caring for critically ill neonatal foals, adult horses and post-operative patients. The on-call roster is currently 1 in 4 for weeknights and weekends.
Required profile
- DipECEIM, DipACVIM or Australian Fellow qualification
- Skills in critical care and neonatology
- Registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of New South Wales
