SAP Functional Lead

About the role

Medibank is looking for an experienced SAP Functional Lead to strengthen its SAP functional capability. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced SAP practitioner with strong SAP Industry Solutions experience, combining deep functional expertise with people leadership, coaching and quality assurance. You will lead a small team of SAP Functional Consultants while staying around 60% hands-on, working across solution design, configuration, analysis, testing and production support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a small team of 3-4 SAP Functional Consultants.
• Translate solution direction into high-quality functional outcomes, working closely with SAP Solution Design Leads.
• Set and uplift functional delivery standards, ways of working and quality expectations.
• Review functional designs, specifications, configuration approaches and test outcomes.
• Act as an escalation point for complex SAP functional issues and support complex production issues.
• Work across SAP modules to understand dependencies, integration impacts and end-to-end processes.
• Partner with SAP Solution Design Leads, Architects, Business Analysts and business stakeholders.
• Provide functional oversight and quality assurance across vendor and delivery partner outcomes.

Required profile

• Significant hands-on SAP Industry Solutions experience, typically 10+ years of SAP functional consulting.
• Deep expertise in at least one SAP functional domain, with the ability to lead and assure delivery across other modules.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or coaching SAP Functional Consultants.
• Experience working with external SAP vendors or delivery partners; experience in financial services, private health insurance or another highly regulated environment is highly regarded.
