Sales Executive - Conference and Events

About the role

Rydges South Bank, part of EVT, is hiring a Sales Executive focused on conference and events. You will develop new sales opportunities and manage your account base to drive revenue, reporting to the Director of Sales and working to the hotel's annual business and sales revenue plan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers, meeting planners and procurement contacts within your managed accounts.
• Prospect for new conference and events clients through cold and warm calling to build a strong pipeline.
• Identify need periods and develop strategies to drive business within them.
• Support sales initiatives such as site inspections, client entertainment, familiarisations and client gifting.
• Work with the Conference and Events Coordinator and operations teams to ensure sales commitments are delivered.
• Assist with monthly reports, forecasts and budgets, working to achieve and exceed targets.

Required profile

• Confidence in building relationships with decision makers, meeting planners and procurement contacts.
• Comfort with cold and warm calling to generate new business.
• Strong research skills to understand clients and managed accounts.
• Good administration and organisation, including database input and client file tracking.
• Working knowledge of budget targets and a drive to exceed them.
• Positive, professional attitude, respect for business confidentiality and willingness to attend business, social and industry events.
