Sales Engineer - Packaging Machinery Consumables

About the role

A recruiter is advertising a Sales Engineer position for a client that has supplied packaging machinery and consumables for more than 60 years. The role leads and supports sales initiatives from concept to completion across NSW and QLD, focusing on selling consumables and small machines while managing the end-to-end sales process and territory budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the territory sales budget and monitor progress against targets
• Prepare accurate quotes and costings in Excel for small machinery and consumables
• Arrange and conduct machine demonstrations for prospective clients
• Coordinate closely with internal teams so that project and customer requirements are met

Required profile

• Proven experience selling consumables and small machinery
• Well organised sales professional with strong time management and a confident communication style
• Thrives in a small team and maintains high customer service standards with customers and suppliers
• English communication skills and ability to manage several priorities with attention to detail
• Qualification in Business, Science, Commerce or Engineering (wishing to move into sales) is highly desirable
• Knowledge of flexible packaging materials, including sustainable ones, or prior sales experience in the coding and labelling industry is highly regarded

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, with good Excel spreadsheet knowledge
• Familiarity with CRM systems
