Sales Engineer - End User Operations - West

About the role

Sulzer is looking for a Sales Engineer for its Flow Division team in Australia, covering the Western area end user market. The Sales Engineering Specialist supports the sales process by providing technical expertise and helping customers understand how products meet their needs, bridging engineering and sales. The role suits professionals who can manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision and typically coach and review the work of lower-level colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, support and follow up sales activities in line with the sales strategy and defined processes
• Identify new markets and business opportunities
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals together with the Tendering Team
• Negotiate tender and contract terms with key accounts
• Establish new and maintain existing long-term customer relationships
• Maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to reduce commercial risk and maximise future business
• Keep up to date on competitor products and activities
• Meet regular sales targets
• Provide pre-sales technical assistance, product education and training, and produce support material for the sales team
• Solve client challenges

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Technical sales experience and strong product knowledge of pumps and associated equipment
• Solid ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Strong drive to achieve sales targets
• Ability to work in a team environment
