Safety Advisor - GPC Distribution Centre, Welshpool

About the role

Genuine Parts Company (GPC) is looking for an accomplished and passionate Safety Advisor for its new Distribution Centre in Welshpool. Reporting to the State Logistics Manager and part of the Site Leadership Team, the role helps establish the safety systems, standards and culture that will underpin the site's long-term success, while also supporting current operations. The role suits someone with a Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety or at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the site's WHS Management System, keeping compliance and safety documentation accurate
• Partner with leaders and team members to build a proactive, positive safety culture
• Deliver safety initiatives, training programs, inductions and continuous improvement activities with the Group HSE Team
• Manage risk assessments, safe work procedures, incident investigations and corrective actions
• Coordinate injury prevention, return-to-work programs and injury management
• Support facility maintenance, contractor management and site compliance
• Contribute to Leadership Team and Group WHS meetings and ensure adherence to company policies and WHS legislation

Required profile

• Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety or at least 3 years' experience in a similar role
• Experience implementing and maintaining a safety management system at a single site
• Previous experience in a distribution or logistics environment desirable
• Understanding of relevant HSE and HR legislation
• Demonstrated experience driving safety performance and building a positive safety culture
• Experience dealing with human resource issues and previous injury management experience preferred
