Retail Shop Supervisor

About the role

Lifeline Queensland, part of the UnitingCare family, is seeking a Retail Supervisor to lead one of its charitable stores. You will help drive sales, manage volunteers and staff, and support Lifeline’s mission to prevent suicide and provide crisis support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the retail operation and delegate responsibilities to ensure sound business practices and achievement of sales targets.
• Work with staff and volunteers to review pricing, visual merchandising, promotional events and selling techniques to maintain and improve profitability.
• Maintain effective communication within the team, regional support functions and external stakeholders, and assist with customer complaints and enquiries.
• Identify issues and opportunities based on selling and customer feedback, set objectives and prioritize tasks aligned with the overall business strategy.
• Coach and develop direct reports daily, linking development goals to business objectives and performance improvement.

Required profile

• Passionate about Lifeline and able to articulate its purpose.
• Demonstrated experience in retail management (or hospitality management with a retail background), including coaching and mentoring.
• Ability to deliver a high level of customer service and exceed expectations.
• Enthusiasm to learn all store roles, including visual presentation, online marketing and stock control.
• Commitment to creating a values‑driven, diverse and safe employment environment.
