Residential Support Worker - Broome

About the role

Hope Community Services is looking for a Residential Support Worker in Broome to help create a safe and stable environment for young people navigating the justice system. The role supports daily routines, encourages healthy choices and helps young people meet their bail conditions. When the residence is unoccupied, the worker steps into a community-focused role, mentoring youth, building local connections and strengthening Hope's presence in Broome.

Key responsibilities

• Support young people in the residence with daily routines and healthy choices
• Help young people meet their bail conditions
• When the residence is unoccupied, mentor youth and build local community connections
• Prepare meals and maintain a clean, healthy environment

Required profile

• Cert III (or relevant experience) in Youth Work, Community Services or similar
• Experience working with at-risk or complex-needs youth aged 10-18
• Willingness to work within a 24/7 roster
• Understanding of and adherence to personal and professional boundaries
• Understanding of Aboriginal culture and community
• Confident working autonomously; calm, respectful and resilient approach
• Current driver's licence and First Aid certificate
• Right to work in Australia; employment is subject to a National Police Check, working with children clearance and ID verification by the Department of Justice (which can take up to 6 weeks)

What we offer

• Permanent part-time (38 hours, 5 shifts per fortnight) at $40.49 per hour, plus $5.57 regional allowance and penalty rates (SCHADS Level 3); casual at $50.60 per hour with the same allowance and penalty rates
