Reporting Assistant – Superintending (Coal Projects)

About the role

Join SGS Australia's Coal team in Mayfield West as a Reporting Assistant (Superintending). You will support the delivery of accurate and timely reports for coal exploration projects, working closely with project teams and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, review and report borehole project data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare, coordinate and distribute project documentation and reports.
• Maintain up‑to‑date customer and project records.
• Enter and manage data in systems such as LIMS.
• Perform quality checks by comparing data against historical records and client requirements.
• Support sample receipt, dispatch and tracking activities.
• Provide regular project updates and reporting to meet operational needs.
• Assist with ad‑hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in the coal industry, preferably in a laboratory, exploration or technical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage accurate data.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience using LIMS or other database systems (desirable).
