Registered Nurse - Palliative Care

About the role

HammondCare is recruiting experienced Registered Nurses for permanent full-time positions at Neringah Hospital in Wahroonga, NSW. The nurses provide care and advice to patients with palliative care needs and work a rotating roster within a dedicated, supportive team. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, staff are encouraged to take part in learning and development activities. HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation, so NSW Health transferrable entitlements are recognised.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
• At least two years of post-graduate experience in a hospital setting is preferred, though recent graduates will be considered.
• Experience in palliative care in an inpatient or community setting is desirable.
• Able to work within a multidisciplinary team and show evidence of integrating theory, clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis into daily practice.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Required skills

• Effective written and oral communication.
• Time management and ability to prioritise competing workloads in a complex environment.
• Computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system.
