Registered Nurse PACU

About the role

St Vincent's Private Community Hospital Griffith is recruiting Registered Nurses with anaesthetic and recovery experience to join its growing team. The PACU nurse provides specialised post-anaesthetic care to patients recovering from surgery, ensuring safe recovery through continuous assessment, monitoring, pain management and early identification of post-operative complications. Permanent full-time and part-time positions are available.

Key responsibilities

• Provide post-anaesthetic care to patients recovering from surgery
• Assess, monitor and manage pain, and identify complications early
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain detailed patient records and document nursing interventions

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' registered nursing experience in a theatre environment
• Minimum 12 months' experience in anaesthetics and PACU
• Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions (DIV 1)
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or an Australian visa granting work rights for this role; visa sponsorship is not available
• Shortlisting starts immediately and the closing date is 13 November 2026

Required skills

• Excellent interpersonal and well-developed communication skills
• Experience as floor manager or willingness to develop in this area is highly desired
