Registered Nurse Scrub Scout - Perioperative

About the role

A Scrub Scout Registered Nurse supports surgeons in the operating theatre so that procedures run safely and efficiently. The role sits within a highly skilled theatre team of surgeons, anaesthetists and experienced perioperative professionals, and is based at St Vincent's Private Community Hospital Griffith in the Riverina. Permanent full-time and part-time positions are available.

Key responsibilities

• Support surgeons and ensure procedures run safely and efficiently
• Work alongside surgeons, anaesthetists and perioperative professionals in a patient-focused environment
• Play a vital role in patient safety and high-quality perioperative care
• Develop clinical skills across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Receive ongoing guidance from Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators and Shift Leaders
• Access continuing education, specialty training and pathways into leadership and advanced practice
• Build relationships with patients and support them through significant healthcare experiences

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' registered nursing experience in a theatre environment, specifically scrub scout
• Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions (DIV 1)
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or an Australia visa granting the right to work; visa sponsorship is not available
