About the role
The Royal Women’s Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Parkville. You will provide specialised, high‑acuity care to premature and critically ill newborns while working within a Family Integrated Care (FiCare) model that actively involves families.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver intensive, evidence‑based care to critically ill neonates in a high‑acuity NICU.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans to optimise outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, allied health and support staff.
- Engage and educate families, supporting them to participate confidently in their baby’s care.
- Apply clinical judgement to manage complex situations and respond swiftly to emergencies.
Required profile
- Current Division 1 Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA.
- Postgraduate qualification in neonatal nursing (completed, in progress, or equivalent).
- Extensive experience working in a high‑acuity NICU environment.
- Strong critical‑thinking and decision‑making abilities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and mentorship.
Required skills
- Advanced clinical judgement in neonatal care.
- Proficiency in NICU monitoring and support equipment.
- Ability to educate and support families within the FiCare model.
What we offer
- Full‑time, part‑time, fixed‑term and ongoing positions.
- Salary range $86,580 – $107,510 pro‑rata, plus salary packaging and superannuation.
- 5–6 weeks of annual leave.
