Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care

About the role

Nepean Hospital, a teaching hospital in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The position is temporary, full time or part time, up to 19 September 2027, with up to 38 hours per week and pay of $41.22-$57.88 per hour. You will provide skilled, compassionate and family-centred care to newborns who need specialised and complex support.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver high-quality, individualised care to newborns
• Respond to the changing needs of newborns
• Provide reassurance, education and support to families throughout their NICU experience
• Work alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA
• Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in neonatal nursing, with willingness to obtain a Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing
• Person-centred, family-inclusive and culturally sensitive care
• Ability to organise and prioritise work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and commit to professional development
• Ability to work a flexible roster of day, evening and night shifts across all days of the week
