Registered Nurse - Medical Escort

About the role

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is recruiting a Registered Nurse to act as a Medical Escort, providing clinical care and support to people during domestic and international transfers. The role suits experienced nurses who enjoy variety, can work independently and are flexible to travel at short notice. It is advertised as a casual position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care during domestic and international transfers
• Assess and monitor patients' health throughout their journey
• Administer medications and respond to clinical needs as required
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders

Required profile

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Minimum of 5 years' post-registration nursing experience
• Australian citizenship with a valid Australian passport (minimum 6 months' validity)
• Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally at short notice, ideally one assignment per month lasting 1-4 days
• Experience in ED, ICU or acute care is highly regarded; previous detention or correctional healthcare experience is highly regarded but not essential
