Registered Nurse - Eye Clinic

About the role

Sydney Local Health District is recruiting a Registered Nurse for the Ophthalmology Ambulatory Care at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH), a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital. The position is temporary and part time, at 40 hours per fortnight until March 2028, on an alternating roster of 16 and 24 hours per week. Pay is $41.22-$57.88 per hour plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients attending Ophthalmology Ambulatory Care for appointments and procedures.
• Liaise with clinicians and other health professionals.
• Provide education and support to patients and relatives about treatment and side effects.
• Oversee the general flow and safe management of patients in the eye clinic.
• Duties relevant to the department may also be required under the direction of the Clinic Lead and/or Nursing Unit Manager.

Required profile

• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated understanding of evidence-informed practice and critical thinking.
