Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator

About the role

Laing O'Rourke, together with its joint venture partner Amentum Australia, is supporting the Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) programme to deliver the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) project at Osborne, South Australia. It is looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator to join its AUKUS team in Adelaide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, cost planning, forecasting, cash flow and financial reporting.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities to optimise project outcomes.
• Oversee change management, claims, extensions of time and commercial entitlements.
• Advise the project management team on issues and initiate correspondence.
• Build and maintain strong client, stakeholder and supply chain relationships while influencing successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Attained or working towards MRICS.
• Minimum 4 years of postgraduate experience in quantity surveying or contracts administration within the construction industry.
• Degree in Construction Management, Building or Engineering, or equivalent.
• Australian citizen who holds or can obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level.

Required skills

• High level of technical and negotiation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Microsoft software, especially Excel.
