Quality Engineer (12 Month Parental Cover)

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support a 12‑month parental cover on our ice‑cream manufacturing site. You will help strengthen product quality, food safety and hygiene standards while leading validation and improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Update and validate cleaning and disinfection systems (CIP, COP, OPC) and associated automation.
• Drive continuous‑improvement and CAPEX projects focused on product quality, equipment hygiene design and reduction of manufacturing failures.
• Implement and maintain the site Hygiene Protocol, including GMP zones and entry/exit procedures.
• Lead investigations of quality and manufacturing incidents, applying structured problem‑solving tools and creating corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide training and develop/review product verification and validation protocols to ensure compliance with quality and food‑safety requirements.
• Support digital and automation initiatives that improve quality systems, hygiene performance and operational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Experience in quality and food‑safety environments (dairy, pharmaceutical or beverage) within a manufacturing site.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and incident‑investigation capabilities.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and ISO 22000 standards.
• Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and work autonomously under pressure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
