Quality Control (QC) Specialist – Upstream

About the role

The Quality Control (QC) Specialist – Upstream will join PPI Quality & Engineering to perform independent inspections of upstream oil and gas equipment for Hancock Energy in Perth. The role focuses on verifying compliance, documenting findings and delivering clear daily reports while ensuring safety and client expectations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect upstream oil and gas equipment to confirm adherence to regulations, industry standards and client specifications.
• Verify equipment quality, specifications and conformance with project requirements.
• Identify, record and report non‑conformances, deficiencies and other quality issues.
• Prepare detailed Daily Activity Reports summarising inspections, findings and completed work.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Conduct all inspections safely and in line with company and site safety procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Background working for an operator, supplier, contractor or client organisation.
• Strong knowledge of upstream oil and gas equipment and quality inspection processes.
• Excellent written reporting and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently on ad‑hoc assignments.
• Preferred: Mechanical trade qualification, Electrical trade qualification, or additional quality‑inspection certifications.
