Qualified Carpenter – Trainer & Assessor for Cert III Carpentry

About the role
Use your trade expertise to shape confident, capable carpenters. You will spend three days each week working across the Central Coast, Sydney and surrounding regions, combining onsite visits, apprentice coaching, assessment and relationship management.
Key responsibilities
- Visit apprentices at worksites and approved training locations and deliver engaging, industry‑relevant training.
- Observe and assess skills against competency requirements, maintain accurate assessment and progress records using digital systems.
- Coach apprentices, provide constructive feedback and monitor their progress.
- Build trusted relationships with employers and workplace supervisors.
- Contribute to quality, compliance and continuous improvement activities.
Required profile
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116, TAE40122 or equivalent).
- Certificate III trade qualification in Carpentry and strong recent carpentry experience.
- Australian working rights and willingness to travel to worksites and training venues.
- Working with Children Check, Police Check and medical clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and compliance training.
Required skills
- Certificate III Carpentry.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Use of digital tools and learning management systems such as Ready Skills and Canvas.
What we offer
- Permanent part‑time (31.5 hours across three days) with a $80,000‑$85,000 FTE salary plus superannuation.
- $17,000 FTE vehicle allowance (pro‑rata) covering fuel and eTag costs.
- Work‑life balance with a three‑day week and travel across Sydney and Central Coast.
- Opportunity for growth to full‑time as enrolments increase.
