Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Purchasing Officer will join the Procurement team at WesTrac's South Guildford head office on a permanent basis, reporting to the Purchasing Manager. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys building relationships and managing competing priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and process purchase orders accurately and on time.
• Monitor overdue orders, expedite supplier deliveries and resolve delays.
• Coordinate non‑conformance investigations and manage supplier performance.
• Respond to purchasing queries and stakeholder requests, providing procurement support.
• Maintain records, ensure compliance with procurement standards and uphold data integrity.

Required profile

• Experience in purchasing or procurement environments.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ability to manage priorities, solve problems efficiently and pay close attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Proficiency in Ariba.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
