Pump Fitter - Underground Mining

About the role

Barminco is recruiting a Pump Fitter to support its underground mining operations, working on a 7/7 or 8/6 day shift only roster. You will install, maintain and repair underground dewatering and service pumps, helping ensure effective water management and safe, continuous mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair underground dewatering and service pumps
• Monitor pump performance and respond to breakdowns and water management issues
• Carry out routine inspections, fault finding and preventative maintenance
• Assemble and maintain pipework, valves and associated fittings
• Work safely in an underground environment in line with site procedures
• Liaise with operations and maintenance teams to support continuous production

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Pump Fitter, ideally with underground mining and/or dewatering experience
• Exposure to challenge mono, flytgt submersible and/or centrifugal pumps is highly regarded
• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)
• Ability to meet site access requirements, including medical, DAS, NPC and a valid manual driver's licence
• Proof of working rights in Australia
