Psychologist - Private Practice

About the role

The Psych Collective Clinic is seeking an experienced psychologist to join its private practice team in Wollongong. The role is contract‑based, allowing the professional to focus on delivering evidence‑based therapy while enjoying flexible practice arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide evidence‑based psychological therapy and treatment interventions for a diverse client base.
• Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with client needs and best‑practice standards.
• Maintain detailed, accurate clinical records in compliance with professional and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and referring practitioners to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
• Manage a client caseload effectively while upholding professional boundaries and ethical standards.
• Participate in clinical supervision and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Australian Psychology Board (AHPRA) as a Registered or Clinical Psychologist; registrars are also considered.
• Demonstrated experience providing psychological services in clinical or private practice settings.
• Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and therapeutic approaches.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse clients.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) training or willingness to complete within three months.
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
• Trauma‑Focused CBT.
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
