Project Officer – Minor Works & Maintenance

About the role

The Project Officer – Minor Works & Maintenance supports the Infrastructure Program Coordinator in delivering state‑wide building programmes for the Queensland Ambulance Service. You will help manage maintenance, compliance, and minor capital works across QAS facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in formulation, coordination, implementation and delivery of building‑related programmes, including statutory and planned maintenance.
• Conduct condition assessments, manage building compliance, soft services and minor capital works.
• Track finances, process orders, payments and produce regular reporting for minor works and maintenance programmes.
• Contribute to policy and guideline development and provide advice to QAS Regions and Districts.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting state‑wide maintenance or minor capital works projects, including budgeting and expenditure analysis.
• Ability to interpret relevant legislation, policy and government requirements.
• Strong organisational skills with the capacity to work autonomously and coordinate external suppliers.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Analytical problem‑solving skills with experience preparing clear reports and correspondence.
• Commitment to high‑quality client service in a complex, rapidly changing environment.
