Project Manager - Water Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its Water Infrastructure team in Melbourne. You will work alongside specialists, act as a trusted partner to clients across Victoria's water sector and co-create solutions for their challenges. This is a hands-on, client-facing position with regular time in client and project offices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex water infrastructure projects and programs, meeting client expectations, timelines, budgets and quality requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with Water Authorities, consultants, contractors and subcontractors, acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and commercial performance so projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects across the lifecycle, including design management, tendering, contract administration, financial management, project scheduling and risk management.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and manage change, quality, health, safety and risk elements.
• Work closely with clients through regular attendance at client and project offices.

Required profile

• A strong foundation in project management and a genuine interest in projects with real-world impact.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Ideally experience within the water and wastewater industry.
• Proven client-side experience across multiple sectors, managing stakeholders and priorities in complex environments.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship skills; experience in consulting, construction or professional services is highly regarded.
