Project Manager - Rig Modifications (International)

About the role

ICON Engineering, an Australian oil and gas service provider, is looking for an experienced oil and gas professional to lead its international rig modifications projects. You will work on small to medium brownfield offshore projects, mainly in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, focusing on drilling rig modifications. The role reports to the Senior Project Manager and involves international travel and time abroad.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver international brownfield rig modification projects from concept to execution, working with rig owners, drilling contractors and operators.
• Manage supply chains and partner relationships, including shipyards, fabricators, equipment suppliers and local partners.
• Work with high-value engineering centres and the Perth engineering team to define task assignments, turnaround times and review processes.
• Lead, manage and support the project team, and help improve project management systems and processes.
• Ensure 100% compliance with ICON's site HSE requirements and with client and partner HSE requirements in each jurisdiction.
• Deliver profitable projects on time and within budget, meeting KPIs on scope, schedule, cost and quality, and driving customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, with at least 8+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Demonstrated experience delivering brownfield offshore projects in Southeast Asia and/or the Middle East.
• Proven ability to manage medium-sized projects up to USD 3m, achieving schedule, cost and quality KPIs.
• Experience in cost estimating and tender/preparation, with a strong record of winning bids.
• Willingness to travel internationally and spend time abroad as project needs require.
• Desirable: offshore site supervision experience, experience at international shipyards, and familiarity with supply chains and local partners in Southeast Asia and/or the Middle East.
