Project Manager - Building Management Systems

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Project Manager for Building Automation Systems (BMS) to join its Sydney Projects team. The role leads complex, technically challenging projects from initiation through to commissioning, working alongside engineers, technicians and industry specialists, and ensures safe, on-time, on-budget delivery to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, execution and delivery of Building Automation and Controls projects.
• Manage scope, schedule, resources, risks and budgets, and provide direction to internal teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on financial performance, forecasting and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Coordinate FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover, and build strong customer relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement and manage multiple project priorities.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Electrical or HVAC, or an Engineering degree.
• Proven experience delivering BMS, BAS, HVAC controls or related infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of BMS architecture, control systems and system design.
• Experience managing projects through design, implementation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Ability to manage project financials, programming and stakeholder engagement.
• Desirable: experience coordinating FAT and SAT; knowledge of BIM and AutoCAD.

• Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Visio (desirable)
• Standardising software deliverables, points lists, project documentation and commissioning processes (desirable)
