Project Engineer – Resource Sector

About the role

EMtek, a multidisciplinary engineering company offering services across structural, mechanical, process, piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation, functional safety, process control, communications and software engineering, is looking for a Project Engineer for its Adelaide team. You will work in a multi-disciplined engineering team developing designs on projects in the resource sector, and the role also offers the chance to become a key focal point for specific clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and own multi-discipline design projects
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including scope definition, procurement support, technical review and performance monitoring
• Scope projects and develop proposals
• Track progress, plan and schedule work
• Facilitate and take part in design reviews
• Work with designers and engineers to develop designs for a wide range of plant elements
• Prepare technical engineering documents as part of project deliverables
• Visit client sites as required

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• 4 to 8 years of engineering experience in a multidiscipline environment
• Exposure to mineral processing, materials handling and process plant projects, including greenfield and brownfield developments, design, construction support, commissioning and project engineering
• Experience across commodities such as copper, gold and iron ore is favourable
• Demonstrated understanding of industry safety and environmental standards
