Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Stormwater)

About the role

This is a hands‑on Project Engineer position with a fast‑moving civil contractor delivering water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure across South East Queensland. The role is site‑based, delivery‑focused and integrates modern AI‑enabled tools into everyday engineering workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interrogate civil designs for water, sewer and stormwater projects.
• Support buildability and compliance with WSA standards and specifications.
• Manage RFIs, variations and all project documentation on‑site.
• Assist with estimating, tender preparation and project planning.
• Engage with clients, councils and certifiers throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–6 years of experience in civil construction, preferably water, sewer or stormwater.
• Strong understanding of construction delivery and site coordination.
• Comfortable working full‑time on‑site across SEQ projects.
• Open‑minded and adaptable to non‑traditional, technology‑driven environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI‑enabled or automation tools used in engineering workflows.
• Experience handling RFIs, quantity take‑offs and project documentation.
