Project Controller

About the role

As a Project Controller at Hitachi, Ltd., you will ensure the financial health and successful delivery of projects by overseeing budgets, forecasts, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and control project budgets aligned with scope and financial objectives.
• Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, identify risks and opportunities.
• Track actuals against budget, explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Generate financial reports including P&L, cash flow, and cost‑to‑complete analyses.
• Collaborate with project managers on financial plans and KPIs.
• Perform financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Support project audits with documentation and explanations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in project controlling or financial analysis, preferably in a multinational or project‑based environment.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and financial accounting concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with high accuracy and integrity.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting techniques.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
