Project Change Controller - Defence

About the role

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a Program/Project Change Controller/Manager for a client-side Project Controls team working on a nationally significant Defence project in Adelaide. The team shapes strategic delivery outcomes and drives excellence in program assurance and change control. You will own the change control within the Project or Program area.

Key responsibilities

• Manage change control for the Project or Program, including tracking, reporting and analysis of variations and emerging trends.
• Work in the new Change Control Team, helping embed the new change processes and procedures.
• Give the client strategic insight by identifying key risks, opportunities and impacts of change activity.
• Coordinate integrated baseline management exercises across the program lifecycle.
• Support assessment of all program change/variation requests, ensuring timely and robust impact assessments on cost, schedule and risk.
• Develop internal capability through training, coaching and recruitment of subject matter experts.
• Collaborate with Project Control Leads, Cost Controllers, Planners, Project Directors, Sponsors, Commercial and Finance teams.
• Support programme controls maturity and efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with an Australian Baseline Security Clearance, or UK citizenship with current UK clearance.
• Relevant degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Project Management or similar.
• Professional qualification such as P30, Prince 2, MSP, APM PMQ, PPQ, CHPPM or equivalent.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary teams and strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Required skills

• Comprehensive understanding of change control, cost planning, scheduling and risk management.
• Familiarity with project control systems such as Contruent (formerly Prism) is highly desirable.
• Experience with P3M frameworks and IT solutions for programme controls.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to present complex issues to senior stakeholders.
