Director - Mechanical Engineering (Building Services)

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Associate Director (Mechanical) to lead and grow the Building Services team in Adelaide. The role is recognised as a Director position within the national Building Engineering team, delivering iconic projects across ANZ while focusing on developing the local Adelaide team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects in sectors such as health, defence, transport, commercial, aviation and data centres across NSW/ACT
• Lead mechanical and multidiscipline building services design and end-to-end project delivery, overseeing technical quality, coordination and design management with electrical, fire protection and hydraulics
• Build and maintain client relationships to support business development and secure a pipeline of future work
• Review design calculations, specifications, models and drawings and ensure best-practice documentation and coordinated outputs
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers
• Use an established local network to grow the Adelaide building services team

Required profile

• Ideally 15+ years' experience in building services consultancy or contracting design with a strong mechanical engineering background
• Chartered status (CPEng) essential; other registrations highly regarded
• Demonstrated leadership in technical design and multi-disciplinary project delivery
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, lead multidiscipline bids and enhance long-term client relationships
• Australian citizenship required, with current (or previously held) defence clearance
