Program HSE Manager

About the role

Babcock is looking for a Program HSE Manager for a full-time, permanent role based in Henderson, Western Australia. The position leads the delivery and continuous improvement of Safety, Health and Environmental Protection (SH&E) across a complex, nationally significant marine sustainment program for Royal Australian Navy vessels, working closely with senior leaders, customers, contractors and frontline teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements
• Provide strategic leadership across risk management, incident investigations, audits, training and performance improvement initiatives
• Lead and develop a high-performing HSE team and influence positive safety outcomes across the program

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one)
• Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety and Environment or Occupational Health and Safety
• Previous experience in a HSEQ management position, preferably in Defence or another high-risk industry
• Experience conducting operational safety audits, safety investigations and reviewing Hazard and Safety Occurrence Reports

Required skills

• Safety investigation qualifications such as Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM)
• Qualified ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor with experience of internal and supplier audits
• Sound knowledge of WH&S legislation and Operational Risk Management
