Procurement Specialist

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the Hunter Class Frigate Program, based in Osborne, SA or Melbourne, VIC. You will manage supplier contracts and ensure that cost, schedule, quality and safety targets are met for this high‑profile defence project.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full end‑to‑end procurement cycle, from planning through contract execution and ongoing management.
• Support bids and tenders by defining requirements and commercial terms.
• Assist with supplier evaluation, sourcing recommendations and development of sourcing strategies.
• Monitor supplier performance against schedule, cost and quality KPIs.
• Lead negotiations, finalize Supplier Agreements and purchase orders in line with procedures and Delegations of Authority.
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders within the allocated scope.

Required profile

• Eligibility for defence security clearance.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (desirable).
• Experience in the defence industry is highly regarded.
• Proven procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver commitments.
