Procurement Specialist – Direct

About the role

The Procurement Specialist (Direct) will drive high‑value, commercially sound procurement outcomes for a defined spend category. Working closely with the Procurement Lead, you will translate category plans into actionable strategies, ensuring compliance, governance and modern‑slavery obligations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and execution of category strategies using spend analysis, demand forecasting and market insights.
• Implement sourcing strategies that improve total‑cost‑of‑ownership and deliver commercial value.
• Own the end‑to‑end Source‑to‑Contract process.
• Identify and mitigate category‑specific risks, including modern‑slavery, SOCI and supply continuity.
• Build trusted stakeholder relationships and provide commercial guidance.
• Drive procurement excellence through supplier performance management, governance and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3‑5 years managing direct spend categories with strong demand‑management and cost‑optimisation experience.
• Experience in category management within civil construction or infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead procurement initiatives, manage projects, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of risk management, governance, safety and regulatory compliance.
