Procurement Director – Transmission Line Projects

About the role

Samsung C&T is seeking an experienced Procurement Director to lead procurement for transmission line projects in Sydney. You will act as the principal commercial architect, aligning procurement strategies with project timelines, regulatory requirements and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute procurement and contract frameworks for utility‑scale renewable energy assets, overseeing high‑value EPC contracts and major equipment packages.
• Manage international sourcing, import logistics, tariff structures and global supply constraints to protect project schedules.
• Lead high‑level administration of FIDIC, bespoke EPC and O&M contracts and serve as escalation point for commercial disputes.
• Partner with executive leadership, government bodies, financial institutions and joint‑venture partners to align procurement pipelines with capital deployment and grid integration.
• Mentor and develop a team of procurement managers, buyers and contract specialists, fostering commercial integrity.
• Evaluate and select suppliers through RFT and bidding processes, monitor performance and resolve delivery issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field; professional accreditation (e.g., MCIPS) desirable.
• 8‑10+ years senior procurement leadership experience in large‑scale infrastructure, power generation or utility sectors.
• Proven track record on projects over $300 million and knowledge of technical specifications for major electrical equipment.

• Strong understanding of relevant procurement legislation and standards.
