Procurement Category Manager, Infrastructure Planning and Sourcing

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Procurement Category Manager to support its Japan data center operations. The role helps implement sourcing strategies for the MRO services category, works with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risk and cost, and holds suppliers accountable through competitive bidding, negotiation and data-driven analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage services sourcing for the assigned MRO/EHS categories and coordinate customer requirements within the region
• Liaise with other category managers for goods and services delivery
• Drive cost savings through bidding and negotiations
• Analyze category data and metrics to shape procurement strategy and understand customer needs and trends
• Lead supplier selection across categories, teams and regions, and set longer-term supplier selection strategies
• Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance on delivery, quality and cost, manage the SRM process and create supplier scorecards
• Run business reviews to improve supplier performance and strengthen partnerships
• Innovate by automating or improving tools and processes, and support the contracting process and post-execution contract management

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, production planning, capacity planning or manufacturing operations
• Experience in high-volume operations or sourcing environments, and in global supply chain management with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated track record managing multiple vendors and projects
• Preferred: Master's degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field
• Preferred: experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers or technology companies, and in negotiating with global suppliers
