Principal Software Engineer – SAP Migration

About the role

Our federal government client is seeking EL2‑equivalent Principal Software Engineers to lead a large‑scale ERP migration from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA. The role is senior, hands‑on, and requires high autonomy to drive planning, development and delivery across multiple locations in Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design, development and delivery of the SAP S/4HANA migration.
• Own resolution of complex issues in development and production environments.
• Ensure software quality, security compliance and adherence to SAP Activate methodology.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Australian citizen eligible for security clearance.
• Senior technical leader with proven experience in large‑scale SAP migrations.
• Ability to work independently, make evidence‑based decisions and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• SAP HANA performance, administration, AMDP, CDS, code pushdown.
• ABAP development, ECC custom code refactor, OData, Fiori exposure.
• SAP CPI, BTP Integration Suite, APIs, OData/REST, IDocs, RFC.
• Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM), data reconciliation, cleansing, validation, optional BODS.
• SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration, UI5 enhancements.
• S/4 architecture, sizing, tuning, transports, security roles, SUM/DMO conversion.
• Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.
