Principal Officer, Corporate Affairs and Stakeholder Relations

About the role

Join the University of Queensland’s Corporate Affairs team to lead strategic communication and stakeholder engagement programmes that protect and enhance the university’s reputation across major infrastructure, campus development and corporate initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication and stakeholder engagement plans for major infrastructure and campus projects aligned with UQ’s strategic priorities.
• Create clear communication materials for diverse audiences, channels and formats.
• Support industry and government engagement to strengthen UQ’s profile and relationships.
• Analyse stakeholder impacts, advise on reputational risks and support relationship management.
• Contribute to reputation management and incident communication responses.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in communication, public relations, journalism or related field, with at least six years relevant experience.
• Proven success developing and implementing communication and stakeholder engagement plans for diverse audiences.
• Experience supporting infrastructure projects with proactive engagement and issue identification.
• Highly developed written communication skills for multiple audiences and channels.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication abilities to build collaborative relationships.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with ability to manage high‑volume work and shifting priorities.
