Principal Investigator – Early‑Phase Clinical Trials

About the role

Join Nucleus Network as a Principal Investigator (PI) to lead early‑phase clinical trials, including first‑in‑human studies, at our Brisbane unit. You will work closely with the Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer and a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high‑quality trial delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical trial protocols and investigator brochures in depth.
• Ensure safe implementation and performance of Phase 1 studies at the Brisbane site.
• Monitor participant safety, manage adverse events, and attend Safety Monitoring Committee meetings.
• Provide medical advice to internal departments and support biotech/pharma partners on protocol design.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical officers and lead emergency response if required.

Required profile

• Full Australian work rights and AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner.
• FRACP or fellowship of a relevant specialist college.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Interest in new drug development and early‑phase research.
• Vaccination compliance (Hepatitis B, Varicella, MMR, Pertussis) with serology for participant‑facing roles.
